The power to control your life…
A link to this was sent to me by a friend today. The timing is great. On my radio program I am preparing to discuss this very clause – that of the United States government to “regulate” interstate commerce. I even have my handy Webster 1828 dictionary handy so you can see how the definition has changed over the years.
This is how one becomes educated. This is how one begins to formulate a foundation from which one will take action – not based on other’s ideas, but upon your own understanding of the laws of God and the laws of this nation.

Here is another example of the government ignoring the 1st amendment and beginning to herd Christians toward their idea of a socialist agenda. The following story gives me the willies. If the courts uphold it, then the precedent will be set and it will move west. California will jump all over it and the middle of the nation will be squeezed by its implications. You need to pray about this one specifically, whether you home school or not. Because if they can come and take your children from your home because they believe in Jesus, they will do what they want to with them in the public schools (which they are already). This is the kind of thing that will spark the kind of revolution none of us wants to see – where parents defend their right to raise their children as they see fit by any means possible. Yes, that means what you think it does. Lord help us!
Two paragraphs from the article say it all.
“In a court order issued in the case, the local court reasoned that the girl’s “vigorous defense of her religious beliefs to [her] counselor suggests strongly that she has not had the opportunity to seriously consider any other point of view.”
(my note – this really means “has not had the opportunity to be indoctrinated with the “proper” humanist/atheist/socialist mind set. Does anyone smell the UN Rights of the Child here?)
“Kurowski” is concerned because of the isolation that is borne of that and the lack of exposure to the broader culture at large,” Donovan said. “People of different heritage, people of different culture, tolerance, group problem-solving, making friends, losing friends — all of the things that come with a public school education.”
(my note – yea, like sex, drugs, the gender blender, etc.)

As a homeschooling parent, I share your concerns. However, it should be noted that the person bringing the charges, Martin Kurowski, is the girl's father not the state attorney.
Oops. Good catch Eric. The post has been corrected. But the state certainly had to agree with him in order to pursue the case.
Doug I think also a lot of this gets back to the doctrine or whatever you want to call it, that once you obtain a marriage license, i.e. a three party contract with the state, that the offspring or products of the contract are the state's property. Particularly after you register them with the state, by a birth certificate. In other words they, the children, are not your children……they belong to the state.
I am familiar with this "doctrine" however am not familiar with the legal structure (if it exists) that would allow the state to make such a claim. If you know of specifics, I would like to see them.

There is another source also that I think you would find interesting, in the form of some audios, however, I would like to make some caveats before recommending them. If you will email me personally I will explain my caution, (it has to do with our beliefs and not anything legal), as well as give you the information to access them.
